Profile
- You hold a PhD in Mathematics.
- You can demonstrate several years of postdoctoral experience.
- Your research expertise lies in the area of algebraic geometry in a broad sense, and it shows opportunities for cooperation in organising research activities and joint projects within the department. Areas of interest include among others arithmetic geometry, deformation theory, Hodge theory, linear algebraic groups, reduction theory and resolution of singularities.
- Your research excellence is illustrated through peer reviewed scientific publications in international mathematical journals with considerable impact, international collaborations and through contributions as a speaker at conferences and in seminars.
- You have experience in the organisation of conferences and other scientific events.
- A track record in obtaining research funding is an advantage.
- You show experience in academic teaching at the bachelor and master level of Mathematics.
- Your research qualities are in line with the faculty and university research policies.
- Your teaching competences are in line with the University of Antwerp’s educational vision. You are motivated to develop your teaching skills further through the professionalisation opportunities
- If you do not speak Dutch, the administrative language of the university, you should be willing to obtain a CEFR B2 level of proficiency in Dutch. As soon as you take on teaching duties as a programme component coordinator, you should be able to demonstrate a CEFR C1 level of proficiency in the language of instruction. The University of Antwerp supports international staff members through an integration trajectory and offers tailor-made language coaching in compliance with Flanders’ statutory language regulations.
- You demonstrate leadership potential and organisational skills.
