Description
With a desire to increase the number of visiting researchers from African countries, IHES has recently obtained a generous grant from the Simons Foundation that will be carried forward over ten years. This will allow to develop a longstanding relationship between IHES and various communities of mathematicians and physicists on the African continent, thus increasing the collaboration between countries and the program’s impact over the long term.
Contract details
As all visiting researchers at IHES, they will be provided with
– a daily subsistence allowance
– free housing in the IHES residence
– free access to the Institute’s cafeteria for lunch Monday through Friday.
In top of these benefits, candidates based in an African country will also receive a reimbursement for traveling costs from their home country to France.
HOW TO APPLY
Candidates who are interested in spending a research visit at IHES should apply to the Institute’s general visiting program. All applications must be submitted online and should include the following documents:
– Duly completed registration form
– Curriculum-vitæ
– List of publications
– Short research project
Successful candidates will be selected by the IHES Scientific Council, which gathers twice a year, in June and in December.
